Tips on how to use the cue card section
Remember, cue cards are for practice purposes only. This does not confirm the topics you will get to choose in the actual exam. These topics are just for practice.
- Pick any topic.
- Set your timer for 60 seconds. If you think ‘1 minute’, it will put psychological pressure; but make it ‘60 seconds’, you have more time to spend. It is more like a psychological thing. If you learn how to spend this time, you can do a lot.
- After setting your timer, brainstorm to find out a few points that you want to talk about within the given two minutes.
- Start your recorder, set the timer for two minutes, and try to cover all the points you have noted down in 60 seconds.
- After you finish with your speech, listen to the recording, and decide where you can improve.
- Do from 2 to 5 repeatedly until you are satisfied with the recording. Use the same topic. Never move on to the next topic until you are satisfied with the present recording. This is how you use the cue card samples.
