Best results come through best practices combined with great technologies. And without knowing the right path, it's difficult to bring out the desired effect. It goes similar to Search Engine Optimization. You have to know search algorithms, processes, and factors of Google's search-bots to beat the other SERPs.

Link Profile

A link profile is the makeup of links directing to your site. Google favors links from a variety of sites as well as high-authority sites.

Checked by Majestic SEO

Link Juice

The process of transfer link value/ link equity from one to another website.

Link juice is used to describe and measure how much power a backlink passes onto another site and therefore strengthens it.

If a website references another with a link (DoFollow), it transmits its positive properties to an extent (e.g. PageRank, TrustRank) and therefore gives a recommendation from the point of view of the search engine. The more link juice that flows from a linking to a linked site, the more emphatic this recommendation is.

Link Diversity

Link diversity is a strategy of obtaining inbound links from different kinds of pages ( for example directories, articles, news links). Link diversity also means obtaining links from a variety of domains such as .edu, .com, .net and so on.

And finally, link diversity means obtaining a variety of anchor text in links and kinds of links, such as “do follow” links (links that pass link equity such as Pagerank) and “no follow” links (links that don’t pass link equity such as PageRank).

Link Diversity Makes Backlinks Look Natural

Link diversity impacts a number of different factors related to your site:

Sphere of influence – more links from a range of websites signals more trust and authority

Traffic mix – links from a variety of sites create new, different traffic opportunities for your site

Broader visibility - more links across a range of sites exposes your brand to a wider audience

Authenticity - nothing looks as artificial and manipulative as a bunch of deep links from the same website

Link Velocity

Link velocity is the rate at which others are linking to your site.

This does not imply that you should maintain higher link velocity to achieve better results in search. Building quality backlinks should be the main priority, not achieving a high link velocity.

If you got those tons of backlinks in the first month, no backlinks in the second, about 10 backlinks in the third, and finally about 12,000 backlinks in the fourth month. Doesn’t it smell fishy?

The backlinks that are obtained naturally tend to build over time, not overnight.

I can say that having backlinks proportional to the amount of content that you have on your site or blog is essential.

If content on your site grows like this: First month – 5 posts, the second month – 12 posts, the third month – 10 posts, the fourth month – 15 posts so on…

Then backlinks to your site should grow like this: First month – 5 backlinks (preferably to the homepage), the second month – 10 backlinks, the third month – 27 backlinks, the fourth month – 50 backlinks so on…

Don’t follow any pattern. Keep it random, and just make sure the content and the number of backlinks are proportional.

Linkable asset

A linkable asset is usually a blog post or page that is informationally-driven. It’s designed to educate and add value to specific industry.

PageRank (PR)

PageRank (PR) is a calculation, famously invented by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, which evaluates the quality and quantity of links to a webpage to determine a relative score of that page’s importance and authority on a 0 to 10 scale.

When a website links to your site, or when you link internally from one of your pages to another, the link passes PageRank points. This passing of PageRank points is also commonly called “link juice” or “link equity” transfer.

Unfortunately, this metrics is closed by Google.

TrustRank

Google TrustRank helps Google and other search engines combat web spam. Specifically, TrustRank measures so-called “trust signals”.

These trust signals help them evaluate whether or not core ranking signals (like links and content) are legitimate.

MozTrust

MozTrust is the closet thing we have to measuring TrustRank directly.

1 means that that your links are almost 100% spam. 10/10 would be a site like Harvard.edu. So 6.09 is actually pretty good.

Domain Authority (DA)

Domain Authority (DA) is a search engine ranking score developed by Moz that predicts how well a website will rank on search engine result pages (SERPs). A Domain Authority score ranges from one to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater ability to rank.

Domain Authority is calculated by evaluating multiple factors, including linking root domains and number of total links, into a single DA score. This score can then be used when comparing websites or tracking the "ranking strength" of a website over time.

Page Authority (PA)

Page Authority (PA) is a score developed by Moz that predicts how well a specific page will rank on search engine result pages (SERP). Page Authority scores range from one to 100, with higher scores corresponding to a greater ability to rank.

Trust Flow (TF)

Majestic launched the Trust Flow metric to great fanfare and it is a solid indication of how trustworthy the websites that link to you are.

Citation Flow (CF)

This is based on the strength of the links pointing to your website. Developed by Majestic.

Trust Ratio (TF : CF Ratio)

This is the ratio between Majestic’s Trust Flow & Citation Flow figures. Majestic analysed the top 1 million domains on the internet and found the top 25% domains had an average CF/TF ratio of 1.09

They found that the median average site had a ratio of 1.81 and spammy domains had ratios upto 9.87

So with that said, you want to make sure that the domains you buy for your network have a Trust Ratio between 0 and 1.81.

To calculate this just follow this simple formula-

Citation Flow/Trust Flow = Trust Ratio

Essentially the closer to zero it is, the less spammed it is.

Any domain that is within the 0-1.81 Trust Ratio range is good to go. Any domain that falls outside of that range should be avoided.

Domain Rating (DR)

Similar to DA. Created by ahrefs

URL Rating (UR)

Similar to PA, Created by ahrefs

SpamScore (Moz)

Spam Score represents the percentage of sites with similar features we've found to be penalized or banned by Google. Spam Score is based on our machine learning model which identified 27 common features among the millions of banned or penalized sites in the data we fed it.

A high Spam Score for your site, or a site you're looking at, doesn't mean this site is spammy. It's a sign that you should do some more investigation into the quality and relevance of this site.

Spam Score Breakdown

The first thing you’ll see is the Spam Score on the right-hand side for the site you entered. You’ll also see a breakdown for the percentage of Linking Domains pointing to your site:

1-30% Low

31-60% Medium

61-100% High

Link Farm

Link farms are meant to increase a website’s rankings, although these sites are regularly penalized by Google as these sites tend to produce low-quality content, and may use Black Hat SEO strategies.

Contextual Links

Anchor Text Link into the content

Drip Feed

Getting links but slowly and steadily

Getting likes, shares, views, comments on social platforms slowly

resently
