Find competitor website with your target keywords

[MANUAL METHOD] - VALIDATE KEYWORDS THROUGH THESE STEPS

 

Step 1: Check allintitle data for keywords

 

Keyword Golden Ratio (KGR)

 

KGR = allintitle/search volume

allintitle/search volume = 169/210 = 0.80

KGR mostly works for <250 search volume (SV) keywords.

Should be equal or less than 0.25

KGR always NOT a good decision. Recently, it's somewhat obsolate and coversion rate is lower. Though, STILL marketer use it and works good for ranking within short period of time.

 

SV: best budget convertible car seat

KGR - 0.80

SV: best convertible car seat for small cars

allintitle:best convertible car seat for small cars

KGR: 0.09

 

Step 2: Keyword Competitiveness

 

Will use long tail pro / ahrefs / semrush / keywordfinder for checking KC - <30

Less than KC 30 always good & easy to rank on search engine. Yet need to do manual check to avoid any risk.

 

Step 3: Page Title

 

Check page title for exact keyword we target.

Less number, better chance to get ranked.

Less than or equal 3 pages with main keyword in title

 

Step 4: Page Content

 

Check page content length, quality, content type, monetization type, etc.

Check Website structure, speed, design, etc. throughly to find any loopholes.

Check media - images, infographics, videos, etc.

 

Step 5: Page Authority (PA) - MOZ (1-100)

 

It represents the ranking power of single page on SERP.

Higher page authority = higher ranking power = harder to rank

Page authority with less than 30 is easy to rank.

At least 3 pages <30 for selected keyword on SERP.

Step 6: Domain Authority (DA) - MOZ (1-100)

 

It shows the ranking power of a website on SERP.

Higher domain authority = higher ranking power = higher traffic = more competitive = harder to rank

Domain authority with less than 30 is easy to rank.

At least 3 pages <30 for selected keyword on SERP.

Example: DA - 30

Step 7: Site Age

 

We can beat relatively new websites with age of less than 2 years.

The more number of young website, have better chance to outrank them.

 

Step 8: Weak Pages

 

Don't count any social sites, forums, wikipedia, q/a sites, etc. on SERP as competitor.

There content are thin, not optimized, etc. So, they will be replaced with our site.

 

Step 9: SERP Lean with Ecommerce OR Video OR Edu, GOV

 

Avoid those keywords whose ranks ecommerce, video, edu, etc. sites.

Example: cheap baby bouncer online
